Last year the Santa Rosa Symphony League celebrated its fiftieth year of sevice to the musical community of Sonoma County. I can honestly say that I have never worked with a smarter, more dedicated or more welcoming group of people. All of our activities and events are well-organized and professionally presented because of the hard work contributed by our members.
In recent years, the League has turned its attention to music education. The Santa Rosa Symphony has a wonderful, many-faceted education program, which is more than ever necessary now that financial and political policies have resulted in the severe cutback of music in our schools. The funds raised by the League's events (Sing-Along Messiah, Festival of Parties, Symphony of Food, Wine & Art and more) all go to support the Symphony's music education programs.
That being said, as is the case with all non-profit organizaons these days, it is getting harder and harder for us to find new members. We need people who love the Symphony and want to ensure that it will continue to grow and prosper as it has over the past decade. Whatever your area of expertise or ability, wherher it be in data management, marketing, publicity, graphics, event organization, or simply preparing hor d-ooeuvres or stuffing envelopes, we have a place for you. Won't you consider joining the Santa Rosa Symphony League in its second fifty years of service?
