Diane Tomczak, President
The world cannot function without volunteers! The Santa Rosa Symphony League was begun in 1958 by a few ardent Symphony supporters. Now, with over 100 enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers the League functions and events take place with camaraderie, efficiency and professionalism. The purposes of the League are to promote musical activities by and through the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra, and to help the Symphony Association bring musical opportunities and educational benefits to the greater Santa Rosa community.
The focus of support is the Symphony’s music education programs. Our fund raising events include sponsorship of the annual Santa Rosa Sing Along Messiah in December, the Symphony of Food, Wine & Art in the spring, and a Festival of Parties throughout the calendar year. Full membership meetings are held five times a year, usually at a luncheon and with a guest speaker, or entertainment such as members of the Youth Orchestra ensembles. Membership, open to both men and women, includes volunteering and some financial support.
We have several levels of membership, Active, Sustaining after 10 years of active service and Life Time for membership of 25 years or more. In these difficult economic times, we realize that family commitments and employment may prevent some persons from becoming Active members of the League. However, we have opportunities for support through our “Friends of the League”. We welcome your volunteer spirit to join us.
For more information, leave a message for our membership chair at 522-8786.
