Laura Reynolds, Oboe
Birthplace: Oneida, NY
Grew up: In several parts of NYS… Sound Beach, Shirley and Bohemia on Long Island and then Salamanca NY from the middle of 6th grade through HS graduation.
Started playing: Oboe in the summer before 4th grade. Piano in 2nd grade. Flute in 11th grade. Saxophone in college for 3 years, with a smattering of clarinet and bassoon as well
Education: BM in Winds from the University of Michigan, MM in oboe from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music
Began with SRS: in the Fall of 1991, just after graduating from SFCM.
Non-SRS Groups: Marin Symphony, California Symphony (principal), Trios Bois (a wind trio) Many other groups in California as a substiute.
Favorite music: many different types! To play in the orchestra: Mahler, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Strauss (Richard), Sibelius, Bach, Beethoven, Copland, Dvorak, Mozart, Verdi and many other specific pieces by certain composers too numerous to list here! To listen to outside of classical: KFOG (more below)

Hobbies: hiking, bird watching, travel to national parks and international destinations.
